Teachers, tutors and trainers in the learning and skills sector can benefit enormously from opportunities to increase their knowledge and vocational expertise through work-based placements. In turn this offers considerable benefits to the performance of your FE organisation and to what your learners can achieve.

How it works

Before any of your teachers, tutors or trainers can participate in Business Interchange, you as their line manager or ‘key contact’, will need to register with Business Interchange. Follow the 4 steps below.

Step 1: Registering with Business Interchange

If you haven’t already done so, you need to set up a Business Interchange 'account' for your organisation or department. The easiest way to do this is to register online through this website although you can also register using the helpline by calling 0845 602 5291. This will help you to allow tutors to create and manage a placement record. It also means you can receive helpline support, best practice guides and promotional materials.

What will we need to know? Your contact details, where you heard about Business Interchange, whether you are registering on behalf of an organisation or department and what you hope to achieve. If you are the first person in your organisation to contact Business Interchange we will also need to collect some information about your organisation during the registration process.

Who is the primary contact? If you are the first person in your organisation to register for Business Interchange, we will also ask if you wish to nominate a 'primary' person to act as a single contact point between Business Interchange and your organisation during the programme (other than helpline enquiries). This can be the key contact for a placement or someone else in your organisation. Once set, the primary contact can only be changed by contacting the Business Interchange helpline on 0845 6025 291.
